The backing for a quilt needs to be at least 2-3" inches bigger than the quilt top on all sides.
If the quilt backing is not flannel or cotton, please contact me.
Please make sure that backing is square and ironed.
Your backing seam can go either horizontal or vertical. If you have enough fabric, a horizontally pieced backing is preferable. If piecing your backing fabric, please use at least 1/2" seams.
Do not use the selvage in the quilt backing seam because it is made out of a thicker fabric. Please leave selvages on the fabric though if not part of the quilt backing seam.
